Dynafit becomes partner of the Südtirol Ultra Skyrace

Bolzano, 15 May 2019 - Speed, lightness, stamina, technology - these are the four Dynafit brand values. Four brand values that also match the Südtirol Ultra Skyrace and the hundreds of participants who are hoping to conquer the 121 kilometres with 7554 metres of ascent from 26 to 28 July. Recently, the cooperation between the successful South Tyrolean mountain sports supplier and the organisers of the extreme mountain run along the horseshoe shaped Hufeisen tour in the Sarntal Alps was sealed. A partnership celebrating a renaissance.

The Südtirol Ultra Skyrace and Dynafit have already successfully worked closely together in 2014 and 2015. After an interlude, the success story of the popular mountain sports supplier of the Oberalp Group with its snow leopard logo, and the renowned extreme sports event that takes place for the seventh time in July 2019, is being continued.

“We are very happy that we were again able to establish this partnership. Dynafit are a highly professional company and cooperation is extremely pleasant. In addition, the products are of an outstanding quality that more than meets the high demands of trail runners. As organisers, we also attach great importance to quality, which is why there are also touching points in this area," Chair of the Organising Committee Josef Günther Mair said.

Hannes Perkmann intends to rock the marathon

Dynafit does not only support the Südtirol Skyrace in economic terms. The best trail runners of the Dynafit team will be part of the extreme mountain run along the horseshoe tour in the Sarntal Alps on one of the four distances. Runners like Hannes Perkmann. The local Sarentino athlete is currently one of the strongest mountain runners in Italy. The 26-year-old will compete in the Südtirol Sky Marathon on 27 July (42.2 km/2863 m D+), in which he took second place in 2017.

"The Südtirol Ultra Skyrace is in many ways a very special race for me personally. This is where my mountain running career started in 2014, when I tackled the 69-kilometre-long Skyrace and immediately finished in eight place. Two years ago I was second on the podium here in the marathon. It is my training track on which I run many many kilometres every year. My family is always in the finish area, as are many friends and acquaintances. That's why the participation here is unique," Perkmann beamed two and a half months before the starting signal.

Strong competition for Perkmann

Perkmann has ambitious goals for this summer. “Of course, it would be a dream if I could win the Südtirol Sky Marathon. And I would like to complete the distance in under 4 hours. I'll certainly give it my all - see if there's enough for it this year,” Perkmann said, who will also be competing in some stages of the Mountain Running World Cup this season. Perkmann commented on his change over to the Dynafit team: “My first running shoes were Dynafit shoes and I have always felt really good wearing them. For me, it’s a return to my roots.”

What is certain is that Perkmann will not be handed the day's victory in the Südtirol Sky Marathon on the silver plate. One of the main challengers at the start is Austrian Daniel Rohringer who won the last two editions of the race. An exciting neck-and-neck race on 27 July 2019 is therefore already guaranteed.
